Deep dark woods invite leather shoe lovers, Climbing through the moss, no one there to watch, Shouting at the moon pressed against a tree, Standing there like wolves, Bathing in the silver light, Lusting you, You’re lusting me, Lusting you against a tree, Built this nest of leaves Tom Robbins and some crocus tea, Read page 23 remember what it said? He was such a dream with his hieroglyphic face, Standing there like wolves bathing in the silver light, Hold my lover, slow my lover Paint all my lips with peacock pines

Halos (live) 04:28
Watched you grow in a starry sky, Diamond feet in the silver sea, It’s not a race just take your time, Own the line, No one’s gonna pay for you but me, Don’t you feel them coming? Can’t you feel them runnin? Lord knows I’m phasing out, And it’s right on time, Losing my mind, Gonna try to erase the stars for real. Chorus My rage is a burning bag, Stepped over the line again, Now house is gone, I was wrong even though I was right, Took ‘em down with a Holden gaze, Pain is searing, Not endearing, Not aware of broken minds, I grew unkind, Caulfield would of racked the coals out on me, You could hear me coming, Oh God I was screaming in my drink, I was ready to take you out, Couldn’t shout, Burnin’ down the world was all I could see, Chorus Don’t you feel them coming? Can’t you feel them running? Lord knows I’m phasing out, And it’s right on time, Losing my mind, Gonna try to erase the stars for real Chorus We got Halo’s Plugged in the wall We got halo’s Plugged in the wall

He was such a strong man Hunted with his arrows Dug himself a gold mine Waded in the River Lightening sided steel head Carved his knives from bone Pierced the flesh of grazers Gave them back their homes He would drink his life away He would thrash his pain Never-mind his lady while he had his reign Strong men remain Now you see his blue eyes Ship wrecked in the Red Sea Moldy soapstone skin tone Heart melts cause of kelly He built his own tragedy Dragons he can’t slay He was such a strong man Made his plates from clay Strong men remain Nevermind nevermind nevermind mind the lady Strong men remain And they called him

about

The idea to record and film a live video ep came without any second thought. A long time friend and collaborator Justin Lapointe has headed this beautiful escape for many years, and many times I have referred to ‘The Barnhouse’ as my second home. Cascaded deep nearby a roaring river and vast fields and darting wildlife, this studio has always opened the portal to my heart. With a bright rich room and captive walls and baffles that hold the sound in, there truly is zero sonic escape.

Our journey began with hours of set up and tests to dial everything just right. Videographers shuffling around eyes focused through lenses hunting for the perfect shot. We were ready. After a few takes our click tracks synced to our souls and the music came alive. Bobbing to the head of Bob Gronotte our engineer producer and mixer, we knew we made magic. We let go of our fear and even deep concentration and let the sound overcome us. We became one. Journeying through ‘Strong Man’ first, a song detailing the battles of an alcoholic chauvinist grandfather. Second, ‘Leather Shoe Lovers’ a song journeying through a first same sex experience. To finally ‘Halo’s’ a track detailing a chapter of the life and times of a future character named ‘Lemon Austin Cadence’ coming soon on Sail Cassady’s next record.

All in all the experience was a magical mashing of talent and soulful immersion. This Ep will send you deep into a journey through the hearts and minds of seven dedicated artists. Nate Bailey Keys, Shannon Sargent back ups, Chris Lloyd lead guitars, John Flatman backups and shakers, Michael Wilford Drums, Aaron Blair Bass and Colin Craveiro songwriter acoustic guitar and lead vocals. Daniel Pender took live video through his company ‘The Potentially Famous’. All together an incredible team and experience.

about

Sail Cassady Victoria, British Columbia

Sail Cassady came alive while reading ‘on the road’ by Jack Kerouac in 2012. The adventure, art and imagery held within the parameters of a single book birthed the idea that the same concept could be experienced within a song or a band.
