You don’t want to feel over board this way, This isn’t the time to fix this maze, ‘Cause your heart is heavy on these days, And we all need you, Paint your fence light blue, So the sky can hide in your yard, Play in abandoned cars, While the ivy cracks windshields, Playing hang man on the dirty dash, Moldy rear view and Johnny cash, Bleeding from my sleeve, Tying ribbons high inside the trees, Silver spider webs wrap around my knees, Take a nap and wake up underground, Can I live in these dreams? Can I just be me?
2.
I don’t know why camas fall to earth like comets drawn by God, Take it in, A leopard print old Beretta in a hand bag that I stole on Christmas Day, Broken down Camaro parts, Left in the woods, To claim, Don’t you know your calm cause it’s you? Failing is the road but the heart is home. Can’t you see it’s easy when you see the beauty in your hands, Take away your oneness and realize you’re never who you, think you are. God we look so old cause it’s you I don’t want to waste my time, Trying to take the courage away from anyone, I knew that you’d made it all this way, Believe me it’s over now, Don’t you know your calm Cause it’s you, Failing is the road, But the heart is home

Deep dark woods invite leather shoe lovers, Climbing through the moss, no one there to watch, Shouting at the moon pressed against a tree, Standing there like wolves, Bathing in the silver light, Lusting you, You’re lusting me, Lusting you against a tree, Built this nest of leaves Tom Robbins and some crocus tea, Read page 23 remember what it said? He was such a dream with his hieroglyphic face, Standing there like wolves bathing in the silver light, Hold my lover, slow my lover Paint all my lips with peacock pines
4.
Hide in Vancouver, State side sunny beach protest, Seagulls in the forrest, Camas reach to sea foam and lie, I see tears, dripping on street signs again, Dancing in the wind, Tweaking to singers in the night, From East Vans healing streets, to the bookstores underneath the dive bars I drink at late at night, The poems that we wrote, contemplations over a smoke, paint-chipped cracked windows all aligned, What a city, What a city tonight, Lie in the forest, steam starts forming like ribbons, apparitions of flames, envelop, all the mossy neon signs, What a city, what a city of love
5.
Lefty 04:11
I see all the ships pass by eclipsed by the murdered sun, Red spots and a damaged ring nick the veins of the unsettled ones, Please hold like you’re driving to hell cause I know we’re going to start to run, Scream allowed all the vicious words that we carved in the dying sun, And we said, eyes closed, purse your lips to the Gods, No longer will I write this way I was a lefty here all along, and she said, time wove, reason, lust and the Divine, Gave away all my favourite songs had a bath and painted all my nails, I get what you wanna do just trying to understand your ways, I hear when you get broke down you expect the full on brigade, You look like a withered flower with the rusty pollen on your face, Please hold on to your worth so you’ll never forget your name, You will read in your room, you will smoke in your bed, hide away from the world, and he said no, I don’t want to be you, pull away from the view, cause you say it’s too easy, not to try
6.
Laying on the tracks Waitin for my train Just a melody a fever I caught sleeping on the plane, You all can’t get up So I’ll stay down High but below, the flesh of the ground, Oh what a scene, A mad mad scene, Paris under frost, with peach coloured snow Falling down in moldy ash trays Take it on the chin, Watch him leave There goes a hero wrapped in bows and purple dungarees I wanna take my turn, But I’ve got these, a heavy hearted hand containing box cutter feels, Oh what a scene, a mad mad scene, Paris under frost, With peach coloured snow, falling down in moldy ash trays. Kerosine sun welcome breeze holds on like left over coffee rings, Can you make it over now? Toast the stars

Shadow Hands 04:03
Break the early day from dawn, There’s a heart beat in that dear old prison song, Pull away your hardened shell, What a simple pleasure just to shake your hand, Just to shake your hand, Hold on to your body, I’ll show you what failings like, A glass of whisky and mountains to climb, And I’ll remember you, And this song, And I’ll remember how you came along, Blue eyed robin window pane, Moldy hands hold reigns that drive the spirit home, Yeah you wish your face was smooth like Gods, Candy red sunshine holds my shadows hands, holds my shadows hands, Who ruled the game? I’ll think about you now and then, and hope you know how I feel, yeah, how I feel

about

Juniper was written over countless eras in my musical career. Songs like ‘Leather Shoe Lovers’ and ‘Shadow Hands’ came out from past memories and life changing experiences including coming out and death. The way an album looks in the foreground compared to the rear view can be night and day. As this record has taken on a journey of its own revealing messages secretly peppered into the songs like hidden EVP’s from ghosts. Who would have thought that my subconscious had as much to say in these tracks as my forward consciousness mind. This record never seems to stop spinning and morphing into new sacred shapes as the lyrics throw movie like projections into the inner walls of my skull. ‘Juniper’ is an album more for me than for anyone else, as it would be a record more for you, than any other being around. Close yours eyes, lay back and let your subconscious slow dance with your heart. Enjoy!

about

Sail Cassady Victoria, British Columbia

Sail Cassady came alive while reading ‘on the road’ by Jack Kerouac in 2012. The adventure, art and imagery held within the parameters of a single book birthed the idea that the same concept could be experienced within a song or a band.
